Presentation
The Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, Niñez y Juventud is a scientific, refereed and multidisciplinary journal dedicated mainly to the presentation of research results that, from a social science perspective, have children and youth as their central focus (and not only as a subsidiary topic).
Therefore, the journal is aimed at the community of researchers interested in the theory and practice of studying, analyzing and studying children and young people in depth, as well as at others interested in the subject with different objectives, among which the design, evaluation and comparison of programs and policies for children and young people stand out.
In this way, it publishes unpublished research, analyses and meta-analyses, which, due to their quality and rigor, represent the main advances in the study of childhood and youth in Latin America and the Caribbean, or which debate knowledge on this subject. In synthesis, it receives contributions that respond to the complexity of this field of study, either from disciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives (such as sociology, neurosciences, psychology, pedagogy and philosophy) and from any methodological approach considered appropriate.
Accepts articles in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English, preferably derived from research formally endorsed by university institutions, research centers and public and private funding entities.
The journal was published biannually from 2003 to 2019; from 2020 onwards, it is published quarterly by the Center for Advanced Studies in Childhood and Youth of Cinde and the University of Manizales (Colombia); these institutions finance its production and guarantee that the journal is freely accessible.
