Main Article Content

Judith Pinos Montenegro

Abstract

This paper reviews the academic production of young Ecuadorians over the last 20 years. Methodologically, it has a bibliometric perspective. Use a search equation based on the keywords «young» OR «teenager» AND «Ecuador». 598 open-access documents from the Scopus database are analyzed. The results identify the annual production, areas of knowledge, keywords, countries and institutions that contribute the most to the field of youth. The findings show a growth in publications since 2015. The most productive areas in the subject are Medicine, Social and Environmental Sciences. The documents warn of precarious health conditions, food insecurity, environmental contamination and poverty that affect young women who come from indigenous ethnic groups, Afro-Ecuadorians and rural population.
