Abstract

This article aims at presenting a critique to Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development from a pragmatic perspective. Two complementary theories that make up an alternative position to Kohlberg's deontological perspective are taken into account. On one hand, Krebs and Danton's work on moral development, which conceives it from the way people resolve their daily life moral dilemmas, thus opting for meeting their goals in the framework of some cooperation relationships. On the other hand, the Theory on Expertise proposed by the Dreyfus brothers, where human beings do not refer to daily life principles to face dilemmatic moral situations, but they just lean on the knowledge about a great number of examples accumulated from experience and which are useful to define a given course of action.
Keywords: moral development, cooperation, expertise
